John has been an active local citizen for 21 years and he has been a part of many committees and boards:

When John arrived in Greengates in 1991, he was asked to do some electrical work for the Thorpe Edge Festival. That was how he was roped in and has since been an invaluable member of the community.

John was self- employed for over 30 years running his own business as an electrical contractor. John sold his shop in 1991 because of arthritis and the difficulties of doing a manual job. He retired from paid work in 1993 and since then has been very busy volunteering within the community.

John has seen a lot of change in the community and he wanted to be a part of this. He is committed to his community and likes to be a voice for local people. He has a passion for supporting people in their local areas and he wants to inspire people to aspire.
